This must be the most frequently asked question about the Teletubbies but is also one of the most important in explaining the programme. We never teach children to say 'Eh-oh!' - that's just the way the Teletubbies say it. All the children (and adults) in the programme say, 'Hello'. We do know that children sometimes say 'Eh-oh!' when they are mimicking the Teletubbies, but they know very well it's only a game. Children love to play with language - hence nursery rhymes and nonsense verse - and playing with something is by far the best way to learn about it.
